One day a few years ago my neighbour Dave Watson kindly gave me what he said was the old copper roof flashing from when the lighthouse keepers cottage at Kaka point had roof refurbishing work done . So here was this most naturally occurring ocean spray salt verdigree weathered historic copper which was begging to become a beautiful artwork .
What it said to me was I want to become a Pounamu Mere .
So that’s what happened and now here it is .
